It’s always a little difficult to review a game that isn’t quite for me, but I can still see it’s merits. Grandma, No! is a physics based game, in which you control the eponymous Grandma, going around her house completing tasks whilst also babysitting her grandchild.
These tasks range from the seemingly mundane, like watering plants or cutting grass, to some more absurdist tasks. The mundane ones frequently go wrong though, for instance cutting the grass reveals a giant ants nest, which you then have to squish all of the bugs. Cooking something on the barbeque outside causes it to briefly explode, you get the idea.
What isn’t quite for me is the humour of the game. The Grandma farts around the house, the baby is dropped off because their usual babysitter was murdered, that sort of thing. That isn’t to say it isn’t for everyone - I can guarantee my younger sister would be laughing continuously playing this game. That’s a good thing, games don’t have to be for everyone, and I’m not entitled enough to think that I’m always going to be the target demographic.
There are various other characters that visit the house, some more absurd than others, and little easter egg jokes that may go unnoticed. For instance when you cut the grass, little rupees appear, in a nod to Zelda.
The game is put together well. You control the Grandma as she shuffles across the house, and you can pick up all variety of objects. Sometimes the game goes into these little minigames, with a vintage cartoon aesthetic, when you open up a cupboard, or have to fix some plumbing. It’s a good change of pace, not everything has to be a physics puzzle.
I think the graphics are great, very charming and lots of bright colours. It would be easy to dismiss this as a game purely for streamers - streamers will definitely get a lot of content out of this - but I still think it’s decently fun. It’s a chaotic game that takes around three hours to see all of it’s content, and at it’s current price of a little over £10, I think that’s good value for money.
Overall, whilst Grandma, No! may not entirely be in my wheelhouse, it is still a fun game, full of things to do, and I’m sure people who enjoy this games sense of humour will get a lot out of it.

Very cute graphics though! Noting for the distant future when my baby wants to play colourful games with fart jokes 😁
Great! I love seeing everyone's thoughts on this game
